Interview Swaag: Lala's Rock Shop

I know all of us love when we come across something NEW. I know when I come across a new makeup line or accessory line that I LOVE right away, I'm completely drawn in. There is so much talent out here it's crazy.

I love supporting my community and showing light to people doing great things which leads me to introduce you to Lala's Rock Shop. A beautiful collection of handmade jewelry made with different crystals and stones. Below is the interview I had with the owner of Lala's Rock Shop.

Name: Lauren-Ashley Kolkmeyer

Age: 22

Hometown: currently living in Morgantown WV until graduation with my bachelors degree in Child Development and Family Studies in May.

What influenced you to start Lala's Rock Shop ?

I wanted to share happiness, love, and faith with people through things that bring those feeling to me. I just wanted to really help others who have been where I have been and may be struggling or suffering through some type of challenge. 

What are your two favorite pieces you've created and why ?

I love all of my pieces because I love all of the healing properties of each stone. It is hard to pick a favorite, it mostly is based on what healing properties I need that day based on my current challenges.

What would you like to accomplish with Lala's Rock Shop ?

Smiles and happiness! Really!! That is all! I don't care about how many items I sell I just love helping people and making something for them that brings them hope to push through whatever it is they may be facing.

Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?

After graduation I have plans to move to California or Hawaii. I see myself being a child life specialist helping children and their families through their terminal illnesses. I hope to be married and have children. I want to have my own backyard where I can grow my own fruits and veggies and mediate with my children and husband daily. I still hope to have Lala's rock shop on the side. 

Who or what is your biggest motivation?

Myself. I don't have any family and no one to support or push me. I am my biggest motivation everyday. 

How would you say life was before becoming interested in crystals/stones?

I was very depressed and felt lost in this world. I felt like I didn't belong anywhere and wasn't loved by anyone. I had, had several suicide attempts and did not want to even wake up anymore.

How has it changed since ?

I found something to have faith in. I learned I need to love myself and with that I will be forever loved. I learned to put love in everything I do and the whole world around me has changed. I don't let any negativity touch me because it is toxic. I meditate daily, do yoga daily, and hula hoop daily. I make it a point of mine to do one random act of kindness a day just to make someone smile. I smudge myself and my home as well as my crystals every Sunday with sage and lavender. Sage gets rid of negative energy and lavender brings positive energy in. If I am ever feeling down I smudge and meditate. 

What's the best advice you could give to someone trying to follow their dreams? 

Love yourself like no one else! Don't play it safe! Go big and don't be afraid to make big changes.

So , I can't lie. I terribly been missing my red hair lately. I mean, there's still some red in my hair, but no voluntarily. But I miss my hair being RED, ALL RED ! It was a lot to keep up with so I just decided to let it go. Here are a few old pictures;

Weight Watchers PointsPlus Program;

Yes, You read right. Weight Watchers and Jennifer Hudson finally sucked me in. Yesterday I finally broke down and signed up. There's so enrollment fee right now so I was like, why not. I figure I'm paying for it, so my ass better stick to it! I have a good feeling about it though. As soon as you sign up, and get your daily points, all day you're automatically watching your servings and what you eat and making sure you don't go over your points for the day. I don't want to get to far ahead of myself and start recommending people to sign up, but if you're looking for a good weight loss program, this is probably one of the best. I'll update you all on how I'm doing in a couple weeks; wish me luck!

Review Swaag - Dream Bouncy Blush

Hey beautiful people,

It's hump day, we're half way through this week ! It will be Friday before we know it and man am I ready for Friday ! I hope every one's week is going great so far and no one is over working themselves! Which is sometimes hard not to do, I know.

Onto my review,  Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush.

As soon as I saw this , I had to try it. I have them in 3 different shades of pink. I can only remember 2/3 of the shades. I have hot tamale and pink frosting , I believe.

Hey gorgeous people,

I hope you all made it through Monday without any stress! Today was actually the easiest Monday I've had in a while! So i'm not complaining at all. I slept extra good last night so that was a greaaaat feeling. I hope everyone's weekend was fun and relaxing.

Saturday I woke up , worked out , showered , got dressed , took a nap , and then later I went out to eat with my mom . I'm going to share my outfit with you. I wore two pairs of shoes that day, one when I was just around the house and then I switched them when I left out.

Happy Sunday! , I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. Mine was good, not ready to go back to work of course lol . I have a bunch of new lip products I want to try out. No pinks! I usually always get atleast one pink, but not this time. I'm proud of myself : )

Anyways, I have two outfit posts for you! I decided to put them both in one post b/c I wore the same jeans with both outfits & I have my hair up in both , which never happens. Those were the first times I've worn my hair pulled up in years.

Long time no blog post! I really have no excuse for not posting this before now except that I've been sleep and sick. Doesn't being sick just suck ? Yea , well hopefully this nasty cold will be over with sooner than later.

On to better things, I hope everyone had a great New Years! I'm sure everyone is happy to be entering a new year. I hope you all didn't party too hard, but I do hope you enjoyed the last hours of 2011. I had planned on going out, but then I changed my mind. So I was still put on a cute, but simple outfit that I can share with you guys. The main thing I wanted to share is my makeup though!

Weddings are something that most people attend at least once. Sometimes it's hard to figure out what you want to wear. Fears of dressing too fancy when attention is supposed to be on the lovely bride and groom or fear that you're not dressed up enough. Never fear out-doing the bride. I assure you all eyes will be on her no matter what. I threw together some simple pieces on Polyvore to give an idea of what you could wear to a wedding.

I realized that I didn't post anything yesterday. I don't know where my head might of been. So therefore, I made sure to do so today. I've been writing down blog ideas and as soon as I feel they're ready to be posted, they'll be up.

So today, I thought I'd share the boots that I mentioned I was getting in my wishlist. I know, I told you that I would be wearing them around halloween, BUT I had to wear them today. They were just sitting there waiting for me to put them on. So I did! : )

Steps to achieve Autumn Eyes

I'm finally getting around to posting the steps to the Autumn Eyes look I posted a few days ago !

I hope this explains everything. I'll put the link to the original post at the end. Enjoy : )

Step 1: Prime those eyes !

- I used an eye primer by L'oreal

Step 2: Using a cream eye shadow, cover lid from lash line to brow.

Step 3: Cover only your eye lid using a medium gold/brown color.

- I used physicians formula's Bronzer/blush/shadow palette.
