Review Swaag: LORAC PRO PALETTE

I know many of you have seen the Lorac Pro Palette floating around for a couple years now. For those of you who haven't, I wanted to give my opinion on it because I think it's GREAT!! For those who only wear a shimmer of gold on their lid, to those who are knee deep in the makeup world.

The palette consists of 18 shadows, matte and shimmer. A little of both worlds. 

When I first purchased this, it was just on a whim. Just another product to try out. Little did I know, that would be the palette I used everyday! I fell in love with it. The colors go on just as they appear and it worked for day to night makeup looks. The gold is my favorite. It's very smooth and pigmented, you can't go wrong with it.

It runs about 42$ and well worth the buy. The possibilities are endless with this palette. The case is slim and light weight, so very easy to just throw in your purse. This should be in everyone's makeup collection if you ask me.

Helping the Homeless Project

If you follow me on Instagram, you know that one of the goals on my list for 2014 was to do more charity work. 

So of course I jumped right on it. Why have goals if you don't take the steps to accomplish them.

I've been reaching out to people to see if they're interested in helping with it.

The plan is to collect winter items (blankets, hats, gloves, sweaters, etc.) and meetup to pass them out to the homeless.

This Saturday, the 18th at 4:30pm, anyone who's interested in participating, we're meeting at DC Central Kitchen.

Interview Swaag: Lala's Rock Shop

I know all of us love when we come across something NEW. I know when I come across a new makeup line or accessory line that I LOVE right away, I'm completely drawn in. There is so much talent out here it's crazy.

I love supporting my community and showing light to people doing great things which leads me to introduce you to Lala's Rock Shop. A beautiful collection of handmade jewelry made with different crystals and stones. Below is the interview I had with the owner of Lala's Rock Shop.

Name: Lauren-Ashley Kolkmeyer

Age: 22

Hometown: currently living in Morgantown WV until graduation with my bachelors degree in Child Development and Family Studies in May.

What influenced you to start Lala's Rock Shop ?

I wanted to share happiness, love, and faith with people through things that bring those feeling to me. I just wanted to really help others who have been where I have been and may be struggling or suffering through some type of challenge. 

What are your two favorite pieces you've created and why ?

I love all of my pieces because I love all of the healing properties of each stone. It is hard to pick a favorite, it mostly is based on what healing properties I need that day based on my current challenges.

What would you like to accomplish with Lala's Rock Shop ?

Smiles and happiness! Really!! That is all! I don't care about how many items I sell I just love helping people and making something for them that brings them hope to push through whatever it is they may be facing.

Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?

After graduation I have plans to move to California or Hawaii. I see myself being a child life specialist helping children and their families through their terminal illnesses. I hope to be married and have children. I want to have my own backyard where I can grow my own fruits and veggies and mediate with my children and husband daily. I still hope to have Lala's rock shop on the side. 

Who or what is your biggest motivation?

Myself. I don't have any family and no one to support or push me. I am my biggest motivation everyday. 

How would you say life was before becoming interested in crystals/stones?

I was very depressed and felt lost in this world. I felt like I didn't belong anywhere and wasn't loved by anyone. I had, had several suicide attempts and did not want to even wake up anymore.

How has it changed since ?

I found something to have faith in. I learned I need to love myself and with that I will be forever loved. I learned to put love in everything I do and the whole world around me has changed. I don't let any negativity touch me because it is toxic. I meditate daily, do yoga daily, and hula hoop daily. I make it a point of mine to do one random act of kindness a day just to make someone smile. I smudge myself and my home as well as my crystals every Sunday with sage and lavender. Sage gets rid of negative energy and lavender brings positive energy in. If I am ever feeling down I smudge and meditate. 

What's the best advice you could give to someone trying to follow their dreams? 

Love yourself like no one else! Don't play it safe! Go big and don't be afraid to make big changes.

My Love & Hate Relationship with Purses (Ranting)

Happy Friday the 13th beautiful people!

I hope you all have had an easy week and are ready for your weekend! I've actually been off all week. Last Friday was my final day at my job and I start my new one on Monday. Yes!, finaaallyyyyy. :)

So I've had a little mini vacation, no complaints there of course. I'm a little nervous about orientation week, but the good thing is that I can dress in cute clothes for that week because once I start I'll have a set uniform. :/

So anyways, if you've noticed, I have only posted one post where I actually showed my bag. Reason being, I usually never have one with me. Well, I usually have the same one with me because I get to lazy to transfer. Maybe that's just telling me to get my ass organized, am I right? Yes, probably so. ( I know , sometimes I answer myself , real healthy right ). Another reason is that sometimes I just like to throw my phone and card in my pocket - if I have them - and keep it moving. So basically it just depends on my mood.

I do love purses very much though and I keep telling myself that I will try to show more of that on my blog. Old habits are to rid I guess. I actually bought a new bag today from target. I've had my eye on it for awhile and it went on clearance so I grabbed it quick!

Now that I've ranted to you about my purse carrying problems, I'm going to leave you with some sort of cute items and wish you happy weekend!

Frank Ocean's Letter

I know this isn't fashion related, but I still thought I'd share it. If you're familiar with Frank Ocean, you ay already know what I'm talking about. If you're not , or if you are & you haven't read his letter he posted on tumblr, you should do so. It actually brought tears to my eyes within the first couple of lines. Review Swaag: Maybelline Baby Lips

Finally, I decided to try Maybelline's Baby Lips . I bought one, used it, bought another the next day. and today, Target had the double packs on clearence for $2.98 and I bought a pack.

So basically, I'm trying to tell you that it's pretty amazing. It works so good. Keeps your lips nice and hydrated, smooth as a baby's bottom. haha;

They have 6 different shades to choose from.

 It's abt 3 dollars for one, and every dollar is well worth it.

"Lip renew formula and 8-hr hydration for visibly renewed lips in 4 weeks."

Like I said, I love this product, and I know you will too.!
